Great quotes! After reading his book years ago, I made a copy of General Colin Powell's "rules". He kept them under the glass desk cover of his desk. I keep a copy of them at my office too.

1. It ain't as bad as you think. It will look better in the morning.

2. Get mad, then get over it.

3. Avoid having your ego so close to your position that, when your position falls, your ego goes with it.

4. It can be done!

5. Be careful what you choose, you may get it.

Are you afraid of mean ol' mayor Phyllis exacting some kind of retribution for your comments?
Do you think she even cares?
She doesn't seem to care about any of the things you citizens say publicly, why would you think she cares about what you say on this blog here?
C'mon, we should all at least try to act like adults here, at least I do, and as many of you may well know I'm not afraid to say what I mean, mean what I say, put my name to what I say, and stand behind it when I say it, and then be not afraid to let the chips fall where they may.
You the people behind this blog, the some what grandiously self-described "Citizen" of Aurora, are always railing on about accountibility, honesty and transparency in government.
Coming from you... what a load of hogwash.
If you don't hold yourselves and your contributors to that standard, how could you have the audacity to expect it from you government?

Hypocrites.

Why should the Mayor of Aurora be required to respond to any request of his?
I hope this blog will not be riddled with the ramblings of HTK of Bethesda. There are enough of his ramblings in The Auroran to ignore.

I don't know who's more delusional, Hugo for thinking anyone cares what the hell he thinks about anything, or Ron Wallace, and for that matter, the Aurora Citizen blogmeister, for choosing to publish his scribblings.

Why on earth does Wallace give as much as a half page of the paper to Hugo's musings?

Oh, wait. Free content. Right.

If you read Mr Kroon's blog, the mayor of Aurora wanted to take him out for lunch to discuss his ideas - I wonder whether that's the promise to which he's referring? I don't know what to think about that.... but I don't mind reading his musings in the Auroran. Wish his blog had all his letters!

I remember my grade one teacher telling me to be proud of my work and sign my name to it so that not only would I know it was mine, but so everyone else would know as well. The same thing goes for comments.
