Community Corner: New Second Cup Opens

We have lived in Aurora for almost 2 years and love it here. My husband and I just visited the new 'Second Cup' coffee shop at the Aurora Centre. The coffee, dessert, and staff were great. Although, the music was too loud for us.

I have not visited the new Second Cup, but I was very disappointed to see the closing of the Zavida coffee shop (which had been in the same location). This was an independent business which had a pleasant and unique atmosphere. Aurora does not need more chain stores/restaurants. Independent businesses add to the unique character of the town. Unfortunately, Aurora is beginning to look like any other suburb because so many chains and big box stores have recently opened.

I agree. Zavida was a great relief from all the Second Cup's, Tim H's and Starbuck's in Town.

There was a letter in the Auroran (Era Banner?) some time ago suggesting Zavida's lease was not renewed because of the landlords relation with Second Cup?

I'm not planning on visiting Second Cup anymore and started buying Zavida coffee at Costco.
