Since Rogers took over ACI, there have been a few changes -- probably most noticeable were the cancellations of 3 local shows; sports, Council in Action with Betty Pederson and an interview show with Dick Illingworth.
What other changes have you see? What others do you expect?
Let us know how you feel about one of the last hold-outs as a privately held cable company being purchased by Rogers.

Betty Pedersen's interview show "Council in Action" is gone too.
to be fair to Rogers, didn't Dick say that he was too ill to go one with the show anyway?
The Rogers takeover of ACI worries me but not because of the local programming. Let's be honest, Betty's show was just a fluff piece for the councillors to pat their backs.
I am more concerned that Rogers will begin to make negative changes to the service on the whole and the technology that they use.
I for one was excited to see that you can now view Newmarket council meetings on Monday nights. I watched in awe the other night when the entire meeting was over in just a mere 35 minutes, start to finish. That's how a well greased wheel spins. It leaves one to again question just what the heck is going on in the Aurora council chambers until after midnight on most council nights?
I hope that there will still cable television programs which are locally produced in Aurora and cover Aurora events. This type of programming fosters community spirit and a sense of identity for our town. With so many newcomers moving into the new subdivisions, it is important to maintain our sense of community with programs which give people a sense of place. If Aurorans don't know who they are, the town will become a generic bedroom community/suburb.
