Thank you to the many readers who told us about this news in their comments -- but until we were able to confirm it as factual, we were not prepared to publish what was still a rumour.
Another senior staff member is no longer in the employ of the Town of Aurora. Lucille King, Director of Corporate Services, has decided to retire -- after starting in November 2008. One has to wonder what led to the change in plans.
The revolving door continues. Draw your own conclusion.

I commend the Town Clerk (aka "Mrs King-guh") for having the fortitude to make a principled decision to extricate herself from an untenable position.
Too bad Morris wouldn't retire. Perhaps then some of the good people who left might come back.
After Morris it should be Gaertner,McEachren,Grainger, Wilson and the non elected Gallo on the retirement theme.
The Mayor will, and in fact did, in the Star today, spin this as another "co-incidence". Not likely! Who changes jobs in the municipal sector if they are planning to retire in less than 9 months. No one. I'll bet Lucille was looking at 4 to 5 years in Aurora to top up her OMERS pension plan, then retire, but found an atmosphere that just wasn't worth it!
Remember it was Councilor Buck who said that the Clerk has statutory duties to fulfill. And she can't blame the Mayor, the councilors, the CAO or even the Town lawyer for not doing her job. And as per Councilor Buck and Marakas, the minutes are wrong. Then, did Ms. King quit because she was being strong armed by the Mayor and others or because she didn't do her job?
Either way I think Councilor Buck needs to show that her actions are not politically motivated and she should call it as she sees it.
Either the Clerk failed in her duties or Buck's nemesis interfered with a statutory officer and prevented her from completing her duties.
I suggest Councilor Buck contact York Regional Police and lodge a complaint. Yeah, York Regional Police or Lawmen of York (whatever Buck calls them), the same guys she accused of interfering in a political campaign, contrary to the Police Act.
I'll bet she'll stick to writing her blog and laying the ground work for the next election.
"policitally motivated" by defination.
"defination"
Are you defining defamation for the nation?
TURN IT UP!
MKT
I am certain that the GOS would love to blame Ms. King's resignation on Councillor Buck as well, but we are getting the picture here, the Mayor will have NO ONE DISAGREE WITH HER or else they will be removed by any means at all! And so the story will continue...keep tuned in.... it will only get better!
August 23rd Councillor Evelyn Buck noted on her blog that there has been seven CAO's in Aurora since the position was first created more than twenty years ago.
Haven't there been three in the past three years ?
Makes you wonder... how could that be ? I guess that is another one of those things that Mayor Morris calls a coincidence.
All of the senior staff save for one have left, the Integrity Commissioner has been fired and at least one whole committees of volunteers have been shown the door.
Hmmmm.... very interesting.
