A couple key quotes;

But from the parts we see, the comments appear pretty clear and damning.
Query oo8 is INAPPROPRIATE that the way it was crafted, politicized and communicated, may be, and be seen to be, wholly political. Explanation of this last test point can be seen in the many tests or measures of political interference that were raised in my e-mail of July 30th in direct communication to the proponents.
The decision was made on the 5th of August. It was in the hands of the Deputy Clerk, Acting clerk for the previous week and a half, on that date.
It also appears to directly contradict the comments made publicly by Mayor Phyllis Morris of when the decision was made versus when they fired the Integrity Commissioner.

If the decision was made on August 5th, how could it be in the hands of the deputy clerk for a week and a half before?
If this is the writing of the IC, he has some explaining to do. But given Buck's free hand in picking and choosing her facts to provide the public with her "slant", I'm not entirely convinced these are his words. Just like I doubt he used CAPITALIZATION as Buck has.
Looking forward to seeing the original version.
Just a few thoughts.
The Mayor's story won't stop changing, just wait and see. The more truth that comes to light the more damage control they will be in. Be careful though, when MacMor is cornered, anything might happen.
Did anyone see the notice on the Town's site? Bayview is closed between Wellington Road (sic) and St Johns Sideroad because of a lightning strike on Sunday.
Someone should tell our Boys in Blue that it's Wellington STREET. :) Drive safely everybody!

so the answer for council is obvious : fire the commissioner and look for another one that complies

wait are the councilors that reached this conclusion claiming that they didn't do due diligence in their hiring? or are they looking to discredit the commissioner? good luck with the latter.
It doesn't take a genius to see that the problem isn't the commissioner but the code, and how it is being used
Who wrote this code? Should they have not hired the commissioner to write the code?

Alison is well quoted in today's Banner as well as the Toronto Sun and she will very likely be quoted in more stories that will unquestionably follow from both the local and regional media.
I'm watching the Star and Globe and hope to see some coverage later this week (maybe even tomorrow).
Having any professional credentials or a specialty in any given area does not mean for a second that you will be even heard let alone listened at council. If there is one thing we now know, it is that simple point.
Like numerous others, Alison has tried to work with this Mayor and Council and despite her best efforts she has been sidelined because her unfortunately ideas and experience don't fit with the MacMor agenda.
How about having the next Integrity Commissioner look at the credentials claimed by Phyllis Morris. It would be interesting to see how much embellishment and spin is allowed before it becomes fabrication.
I think Phyllis Morris should resign, and seek counselling to work on her low self-esteem issues.
Every wrong move she makes can be explained by low self-esteem.
Brainy people make her insecure, but they shouldn't, Phyllis! Not if you're confident.
The rest of the GOS need to go too. Gallo is not bad, if he is actually elected next time, but he should sign up for some ESL classes in the interim.

Gallo, you must be kidding. Check out his scruples. We had some good candidates in the last election. Hopefully they will run again. Maybe they can cozy up to some citizen groups, or make promises, … like our current councillors did. We need professional people who have sat on boards, directors, … this is a suppose to be a part time job. We don't need people on council who need a job.
So much time and money waisted by this council. I want our money back!
I do not think that the mayor and council SHOULD NOT hire the next integrity comissioner. There should be an independant group set up to do the hiring. Why let this or any council hire the commissioner who will rule for or against the same group who hires them?
If you,the residents agree please call the mayor and councillors of Aurora to let them know.

I agree with Nigel
not only is hiring their own integrity commissioner a conflict of interest, and therefore should fall to an independent group, but the code of conduct itself should be created by this group, not council.
Alas I don't thing there is enough integrity in the combined GOS worthy of hiring a commissioner to weigh in on the matter.
Please stop spending our tax money to save face.
If they had a shred of integrity, Evelina MacEachern and Phyllis Morris (i.e. MacMor) would resign, pure and simple. Do they really think they are adding any integrity to the political process in this town ? What a total joke ! They are as manipulative and self serving as they come and they actually think they take the high ground... ya right.
Granger and Gallo are lap dogs and Wendy, she does her best but it is time to hang it up. Al does his best as well but why he can't see the forest for the trees is to be determined.
We all know Evelyn is no saint but the gang of six (GOS) has it all screwed up this time (even more than usual).
